PanelStar Custom Homes has completed various homes utilizing Structural Insulated Panels. Here are samples of our custom home projects.

This home boasts 1300 sq ft of heated space. It is constructed with 6 /12 SIP wall panels and 8 1/2 SIP roof. The roof is finished with Metal reflective roof (Polar White). Sustainable wood siding (Green) covers the structure. Other elements included are, shaded southern facing windows, Energy Star windows, Energy Star doors. Heating and cooling provided by small window unit.

PanelStar Custom Homes is the areas leader for Energy Star Labeld homes. This is the first Energy Star labeled house in the East Alabama - Columbus, GA/West Georgia area. View the Energy Star listing for this home at energystar.gov. This home uses SIP construction 10 1/4" roof panels and 4 1/2" wall panels, Energy Star ground source Geothermal heat pump from Water Furnace, Low-E/Argon Energy Star windows, Energy Star exterior doors, Energy Star Advanced Lighting Package, Energy Star ceiling fans throughout and Energy Star appliances. Also featured is a metal roof with Energy Star certified reflective paint, no southern facing windows, 2.5 kwatt Photovoltaic (solar) panels for 220 volt service, 1440 Amp-hour battery storage, Dual electric wiring throughout - solar electric in every room, and generator backup. The well pump can be powered by the grid, solar or generator electricity. This home received a HERS Rating of 49, View a copy of the Energy Star Certificate for this home.

This is a 3500+- sq ft 2 story with vaulted ceilings in the great room. This home uses SIP construction 6 1/2" roof and 4 1/2" wall panels. Like most SIP homes there is no attic. In this example and additional 1100+- square feet of living space was gained at minimal cost per square foot. Also featured is a sealed and insulated crawl space that adds approx 2400 square feet of climate controlled storage. (The crawl space is heated and cooled with the rest of the house).
